Kai He Dong Gong (Tai Ji Open/Close Movement)

There are two forms of meditation training in the lineage of Tai Ji Quan Neigong that Master LI Guangzhao has: with or without physical body movement.

Standing Meditation with no physical body movement includes Wu Ji Standing Meditation, and Hun Yuan Standing Meditation. The main goal of Standing Meditation training is to cultivate the internal movement (Yi/Mind and Qi/Energy) without movement of the physical body.

Standing Meditation with physical body movement include Kai He Standing Meditation (level 3), and Kai He Dong Gong (level 4). The goal of the training with movement is to maintain the stillness in the physical movement(open/close). Level 3&4 together are called the Kai He Dong Gong (Tai Ji Open/Close Movement)

This course (Kai He Dong Gong) includes the following topics:

1. Kai He Standing Meditation. This builds upon the Hun Yuan Standing Meditation and adds the open/close movements. The goal is to train the movement of the whole body to follow the movement of the Yi/Mind.

2. Bao San Guan (hugging the three gates). This training method focuses on the coordination and integration of the virtual and real meridian. The three gates are: the Wei Lv Gate, the Jia Ji Gate and the Yu Zhen Gate. Work on the open/close in the front/back, left/right, and up/down directions.

3. Si Dong Gong (Four Open/close movements). This training method focuses on the training the body and limbs to move together and in harmony. The first movement: the body transports the limbs. The second movement: the limbs push the body back to central position. The 3rd movement: the body drags the limbs to move back. The fourth movement: the limbs pulls the body back to central position. Kai He Dong Gong is the key in the cultivation of Tai Ji Neigong.

The Kai He (open/close) movement is the fundamental building block of all the Tai Ji postures. Therefore, it is critical to learn Kai He Dong Gong. Whether one wants to get health benefits or acquire martial art skills, Kai He Dong Gong is a very valuable practice method.

Kai He Dong Gong is the core training method in the lineage of the Yang Style Tai Ji Quan that Master LI Guangzhao has. It was a secret way of training that is only preserved in the Yang Style Tai Ji Quan taught by Master XU Daishan. Master XU Daishan pass it on to Master LI Shutian, Master LI Guangzhao’s father, who taught Master LI Guangzhao.

李光昭老師傳承的太極拳內功分為靜樁功和動樁功。靜樁功包括無極樁功和渾圓樁功。靜樁功的修為主旨是:靜出動勢。在身體不動的情況下體會意氣的內動。動樁功包括開合樁(第三階)和開合四動功(第四階)等。動樁功的修為主旨是在靜樁功的基礎之上體會:雖動猶靜。在身體開合運動中體會形意氣的完整和不變。

本課程(開合動功)主要講述以下內容:
1. 開合樁。在渾圓樁的基礎上,加上開合動作,進一步體會意主動,形隨動。
2. 抱三關。三關是玉枕關、夾脊關、尾閭關。體會虛實中線相合,前後、左右、上下之開合。
3. 四動功。四動功主要體會身手合一。一動:以身運手;二動:以手運身;三動:以身回手;四動:以手回身。

開合動功是太極拳內功修為的關鍵。一開一合,是太極拳所有動作的內涵,因此掌握開合是非常重要的。對於獲得身體的健康,或是武術技擊的能力,開合動功都是非常寶貴的功法。

開合動功是李光昭老師太極內功傳承體系的核心功法和「獨門絕技」。本功法由楊少侯先生傳給徐岱山先生,為徐岱山先生這一支楊氏太極拳傳承所獨有的功法。後由徐岱山先生傳給李光昭老師的父親李樹田先生。李樹田先生傳給李光昭老師。
